Our commitment: We will do our best to provide you with advice and services that you will find valuable and to represent your best interests and that of our industry.

Membership of the TCA is for businesses and individuals who are part of the supply channel, from vendors through to resellers and service providers; membership is not open to end-users, whether individuals or businesses.

The five different categories of membership are detailed below. You can sign up immediately online if you are paying with a credit card; however our preferred method of payment is by monthly standing order. If you are joining as a Full Member you have the option of paying the full amount annually.

Data Protection Notice: The TCA may use the information you provide for marketing, administrative, statistical analysis and promotional purposes. We may contact you by telephone, fax, post or email. We will contact you to let you know of the various member benefits we have secured for you. As a Member you can manage your contact preferences online and select not to receive communications from third-parties who may provide substantial benefits to you.

Full Membership is from £30 per month for businesses up to 20 employees

Note: Full Members that sell products or services to end users (either consumers or business users) must conform to the TCA Code of Practice, display the Confidence Assured logo and abide by the ruling of the TCA in any customer (end user, not channel) dispute. Any end-user dispute referred to the Association for mediation under the Confidence Assured scheme carries a flat fee of £90, charged in advance.

CONFIDENCE ASSURED MEMBERSHIP

Confidence Assured (“CA”) Membership is ideal for independent resellers, retailers and VARs who recognise the advantages of belonging to their national trade organisation, but who do not need the full range of benefits that a Full Member receives. In formally agreeing to abide by the Code of Practice they demonstrate to their customers that they are a responsible business.

A retailer that has multiple outlets and wishes to join as CA must pay a membership for each separate outlet.

Confidence Assured Membership is just £10 per month per outlet

Note: Confidence Assured Members must conform to the TCA Code of Practice, display the Confidence Assured logo and abide by the ruling of the TCA in any customer dispute. CA Membership does not guarantee first hand help or advice from the TCA or unlimited free mediation in customer disputes nor membership of the Technical Panel scheme (available at £200 pa) and does not allow for voting rights or formal right to affect the management of the association. Any end-user dispute referred to the Association for mediation by a CA member or their customer comes under the terms of the Technology Confidence Assured scheme. See separate details.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

Members joining as an Individual are typically people who are employed in the IT sector or consultants or individual service providers. Individual Members must declare their track record in customer-facing roles in the ICT industry and depending upon experience will become a Member, Associate or a Fellow of the TCA

Individual Members may use Fellow, TC Association (F.TCA) Associate, TC Association (A.TCA) or Member, TC Association (M.TCA) in their personal communications, such as business cards and correspondence or after their signature. An individual member cannot claim that their business has any business membership of the association unless the business itself has Full Membership or Confidence Assured membership.

Fellows are individuals who have 10 year customer-facing experience in the IT industry, or have a 5 year record AND a recognised ICT qualification.

Associates are individuals who can demonstrate 5 years experience in customer facing and/or management roles in the ICT industry, or a three year record AND who possess a recognised ICT qualification. Members are anyone involved in the industry/marketplace, or anyone who wishes to work in the industry and who possesses a recognised ICT qualification.

Individual Member costs £5 per month payable by standing order

INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP

International Membership is for an enterprise that is not based in the UK, typically a vendor, however it may have a sales agent that is UK based.

International Membership is from £30 per month for businesses based outside the UK and with no more than 1 UK based staff
